Lidia Bastianich and son Joseph Bastianich, in their first venture outside New York City, opened Lidia's Kansas City restaurant in 1997. A few years later, Lidia's was voted Kansas City's most popular Italian restaurant by Zagat. Lidia's Kansas City is located in a former railroad house north of Kansas City's historic Union Station.
The restaurant offers daily tasting of three fresh, homemade pastas, modeled on the popular pasta service at Beco in New York City. Lidia's is open nightly for dinner, for lunch Monday through Friday and offers a unique Market Brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
