Raised by parents who treated dinnertime as a religious tradition, Elizabeth Harcourt always knew food and wine would play an integral role in her life. After finishing a Masters in Theological Studies at Boston University, she moved to New York and began her formal training at the landmark wine store Astor Wines and Spirits. Her practical education at Astor was augmented by classes at the International Wine Center. Following a trip to southern Spain, where she learned about sherry and its ability to complement a broad range of dishes, Elizabeth decided that the dance between food and wine was her professional calling.
She secured a position at Montrachet, one of New York’s most venerable wine restaurants, where her love of Burgundies was requited every night. Elizabeth continued to expand and refine her knowledge, studying in France, Switzerland, Australia and California with some of the world’s most notable wine authorities.
After working at Country in the Carlton Hotel and most recently, the private IMI Club of New York, she is thrilled to be back with the Myriad family – and in the Montrachet space – at Corton.
