I am a Food Stylist for editorial and commercial photographers (currently represented by Ford (Models) Midwest Artist Division). Some think it sounds glamorous/easy!/& that all I do is play with food...but it is so much more than that. The work is very challenging and can be quite stressful. The big budgets and tight deadlines of the advertising industry make the details crucial. I do however love what I do! I was a free-lancer for seven years and then sold my soul for a steady paycheck. I worked for Readers Digest and had hundreds of photos published in magazines and cookbooks. My first of many covers was on the stands a few years ago, which finally made my parents proud. I am a free free free lancer again!! It's not one bit easy here in the Midwest...but I like being my own boss.
Look for an upcoming cookbook with my styling work to be published in 2011!
I am a self-taught cook and baker. My passion for food began at a young age. I have been a cheese buyer, cooking teacher, guest speaker, food writer, pastry "chef" and a caterer (among many other things!). My Bachelors degree is in Art and Design and I am passionate about the visual world.
